Lowest Unique Bid Auctions
-
Q: What is a lowest unique bid auction?
A: GlobalBidders lowest unique bid auctions work with the following rules:
- A user's aim is to place the lowest bid on an item that no other user has made, i.e. the lowest unique bid OR the lowest unmatched bid.
- The lowest bid amount is $0.01 and users may place any bid amount between $0.01 and the Max Bid Amount. The minimum bid increment is 1 cent ($0.01).
- Only a set amount of bids are allowed for each auction, i.e. the Required Number of Bids. Once the required number of bids has been reached, the auction will close.
- Once an auction closes, the winner is the one who has the lowest unique bid.
-
Q: What is the lowest unique bid?
A: The lowest unique bid is the lowest bid placed that has not been duplicated by any other player. The lowest unique bid is also often referred to as the lowest unmatched bid. If someone places a bid amount that is the same as yours, your bid is now duplicate and no longer unique. For a more detailed explanation, please view the How It Works page.
-
Q: How many bids can I place per auction?
A:You are allowed to place as many bids as you like on any auction.
-
Q: Why is there a bidding fee and what is the bidding fee?
A:Bidding fees are necessary to cover the cost of the products/services that GlobalBidders provides. This allows GlobalBidders to sell items/services for a small fraction of their value. The bidding fee is 1 credit for every bid placed.
-
Q: What is the Max Bid Amount?
A: This is highest amount that you can bid on any auction. Please note that the Max Bid Amount is different for each auction.
-
Q: What is the Required Number of Bids?
A: Only a set amount of bids are allowed for each auction, which is known as the required number of bids. Once the required number of bids has been reached the auction will close and no more bids will be accepted. Please note that this figure is different for each auction.
-
Q: When do auctions close?
A: Auctions close and are drawn once the required number of bids has been reached.
-
Q: What happens if there is no lowest unique bid?
A: If there is no single lowest unique bid then the winner is determined by the lowest bid amount with exactly 2 bids placed and where the player bid first. In case of no bid amount with exactly 2 bids then the process is repeated for the lowest bid amount with exactly three bids and so on until there is a winner.
-
Q: Can I view the status/history of the bids I have placed?
A: You can always log into your account and view bid history to see whether your bid(s) is the lowest unique, duplicate or unique, but not lowest.
-
Q: When does an auction close or get drawn?
A: An auction is drawn as soon as it has received the required number of bids.
-
Q: Do auctions get re-listed?
A: Auctions never get re-listed. Once an auction closes, it is permanently closed. New items are constantly listed and once an auction closes, a new auction is started to replace it.
-
Q: Do I get notified when auctions close?
A: Only users that participate in any particular auction will be notified when it closes.
